Temporary HR Administrator
Location: Edinburgh or Glasgow
Contract: 3-month Fixed-Term Contract
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Pay: £13.70 per hour

Are you an organised Administrator with a sharp eye for detail and a methodical approach to your work?
We are looking for a Temporary HR Data Administrator to join an established HR team for a 3-month project. The role will focus on reviewing, validating and updating employee information within the organisation's HR system, ensuring records are accurate, complete and consistently maintained.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with data, systems and processes and takes pride in getting the detail right.
You do not need previous experience of SelectHR. Experience using HR, payroll, recruitment, database or other business systems will be considered.

Working as part of the HR team, you will provide administrative support throughout a focused data validation and system improvement project.
Your responsibilities will include:

• Reviewing existing employee records and checking information for accuracy and completeness.
• Inputting and updating personnel information accurately and consistently.
• Validating HR data against source documentation and agreed criteria.
• Identifying missing information, discrepancies, duplicate records or other anomalies.
• Investigating information where required and raising queries with the wider HR team.
• Ensuring any agreed amendments are accurately reflected within the HR system.
• Supporting the review of HR system screens, fields and data requirements.
• Identifying opportunities to improve the consistency and usability of HR data.
• Maintaining accurate records of information reviewed and any issues identified.
• Working systematically through allocated records and meeting agreed deadlines.
• Using Excel and other systems to review, organise and manage information.
• Handling confidential employee information appropriately at all times.
• Following internal processes and data protection requirements when accessing and updating personnel information.
• Providing general administrative support to the HR team where required during the project.

You will be a highly organised and detail-focused Administrator who is comfortable working with systems and large amounts of information.
We are particularly interested in people who can demonstrate:

• Previous experience in an administrative, HR, payroll, recruitment, people services, data or similar role.
• Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to completing work.
• Experience inputting, checking, maintaining or validating data.
• Confidence working with computerised systems and databases.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel or similar spreadsheet software.
• The ability to identify errors, inconsistencies and missing information.
• Confidence raising queries where information is unclear or does not appear correct.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage your workload effectively.
• A reliable and consistent approach to repetitive or process-driven work.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• An understanding of the importance of confidentiality when dealing with employee or personal information.
• The ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a wider team.

Experience with HR systems would be advantageous, but it is not essential.
We would also consider candidates who have worked with

• Payroll systems.
• Recruitment databases or applicant tracking systems.
• CRM systems.
• Case management systems.
• Compliance or regulatory databases.
• Microsoft Excel and other spreadsheet-based systems.
• Other large-scale business or administrative databases.

What matters most is your ability to learn systems quickly and work accurately within them.

This role would suit someone who enjoys getting into the detail.
You should be comfortable working through information methodically, checking that records match, spotting something that doesn't look right and taking the appropriate action.
You will need to be patient, consistent and comfortable with a project where accuracy is more important than speed alone.
You should also be confident enough to ask questions rather than make assumptions when information is unclear.
